Learn to finish your handwoven projects with professionalism and pride
We’ve all had disappointments pulling a project off the loom. We cut the warp, lay out the piece, and feel our expectations dashed-yet it often represents hours of work and considerable expense. You hurry through the finishing, or don’t do it at all, then fold it up and stuff it, forgotten in a drawer. This workshop will help you finish your projects with professionalism and pride.
Learn how to deal with wonky edges, skipped warps, and other common issues. Practice sampling proper finishing for fringes, hems, sewing, hanging devices, and framing your work. Incorporate finishing techniques in your plan before you even begin.
Pull your “dogs and UFOs” out of the drawer, or bring your next idea and materials. Through “oops” examples, professional textiles, visuals, demos and hands-on, you’ll find out how to transform your work into items suitable for sale, exhibit, or personal enjoyment.
