CLASS: Fiber Preparation for Spinners
2701 W. Superior St.
Suite 210, Duluth
MN 55806
In this class, you will learn how to prepare fiber for spinning using hand tools such as carders, combs, a flicker, a picker, and more. By learning how to match the right tool to the fiber, you will gain more control over your spinning.
We will have a variety of clean animal fibers to play with (this is not a scouring class). You are welcome to bring your spindle or spinning wheel to sample your prepared fibers throughout the day. While we will discuss the options for spinning the fiber prepared on each tool, this is not a learn-to-spin yarn class.
Skill Level: Beginner
Materials to bring to class: notetaking supplies; spindle or spinning wheel (optional, but useful for sampling); your own fiber prep tools that you want to try out.
Materials Fee: $20 (paid to instructor during class)
