Spinning Interest Group

We encourage people of all skill levels to drop in; it is a great place for new spinners (or wannabe spinners) to learn from accomplished spinners, and a great place for accomplished spinners to share the craft. You are sure to be inspired by the color, texture and technique that is shared.

Summer 2024: We’ll be meeting at Lincoln Park (25th Avenue West & 5th Street, Duluth) for July and August. Normal time, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Suggested that you enter the park at the 25th Ave and 3rd St. entrance and park at the first lot. We’ll be meeting near the old stone building that’s immediately across the bridge from that parking lot. There is a paved path that’s pretty much level from the lot to the stone building, about 50 yards or so. If there is a problem with the lot being filled, there’s an overflow lot directly above the first lot and that has lots of parking. Also in that lot is (as far as I could find) the only restroom — a large porta potty. It’s a flight of stairs up from the 3rd St. parking lot. Bring a chair (for spinning group, not for the porta potty!). There shouldn’t be any problem with bringing a wagon on the paved paths. For e-spinners, there is no electricity on site. In case of rain, we’ll meet at the studio. It’s shaded so you don’t have to worry about sun exposure, and when I was there, there were no mosquitoes.
