Member Scholarships

Janet Meany Scholarship Policy

  1. This scholarship fund will be called the Janet Meany Scholarship.
  2. All members of Duluth Fiber Guild are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  3. DFG members may be awarded this scholarship one time only (lifetime).
  4. Duluth Fiber Guild’s Beginning Floor Loom Weaving is the only class currently eligible.
  5. Members who are awarded will receive $50, to be applied to class tuition.
  6. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis per class term, until funds are exhausted.
  7. Donations to this fund will be designated as “restricted” and used only for Beginning Floor Loom Weaving.

To Apply:

  1. Applicants should email their interest and date of scheduled class to info@duluthfiberguild.org with “Janet Meany Scholarship” in subject line (which will be forwarded to the scholarship committee).
  2. The scholarship committee will communicate acceptance status to applicants within two weeks of receipt of application.
  3. Awarded funds can be applied to tuition payment or reimbursed after payment in full. The scholarship committee will promptly communicate, in writing, the method of award to the DFG Treasurer for dispersal.

This policy will be reviewed annually and revised as necessary.

Dave Kortier Scholarship Policy

  1. This scholarship fund will be called the Dave Kortier Scholarship.
  2. All members of Duluth Fiber Guild are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  3. DFG members may be awarded this scholarship one time only (lifetime).
  4. Duluth Fiber Guild’s Beginning Spinning is the only class currently eligible.
  5. Members who are awarded will receive $50, to be applied to class tuition.
  6. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis per class term, until funds are exhausted.
  7. Donations to this fund will be designated as “restricted” and used only for Beginning Spinning.
