This class will review the basic steps of floor loom weaving, offering options and tips which will increase good outcomes. Winding and beaming warps, threading and sleying, tie-up and treadling options, use of a temple or not, beating styles, proper bench height and other ergonomic considerations will all be covered. Opportunities to experience varying techniques and equipment will be offered.
Level: Appropriate for weavers who have taken the Beginning Floor Loom class, or equivalent. This class is intended for new floor loom weavers as well as those who wish to improve their techniques.
Tools/materials to bring to class: pen/pencil and paper for taking notes

Instructor: Becky McDowell
Instructor Bio: Becky McDowell has been a textile/fiber artist for her entire adult life. Weaving has been her major focus for the last 8 years. She is always looking for ways to improve her techniques, whether through a new idea, process, or tool. She understands that there are multiple ways to do almost any weaving technique and the trick is in finding the way that works for you. She also understands that we need to be intentional about making choices which will allow us to continue our passions as we age.
Refund policy: If you need to cancel your class registration, you will receive a refund, less a $5 administrative fee, if the cancellation is received fourteen days prior to the class. If you cancel less than fourteen days before the class, you will not be eligible for a refund. If for some reason DFG needs to cancel a class, you will receive a full refund.
