Learn the basics of the ancient art of sprang.

SKU: N/A Category: Tags: , , ,

This two-day class will introduce students to the ancient art of braiding parallel threads on a frame, commonly known as sprang. The first day is an introduction to working this method, sometimes called “weftless weaving”. Students will train their fingers in the braiding technique and train their brains to see the interlinking pattern while making a sprang bag. The second day will add color patterns to sprang bags as students continue to learn the technique.

Students who are comfortable warping a frame, working the interlinking stitch, and securing the center may sign up for the second day only.

To learn more about the sprang technique, visit the instructor’s website: https://www.sprangart.com/

Day 2 only- Advanced Beginner – student already has the ability to complete a sprang bag from start to finish, including warping the frame, securing the center, and sewing up the sides.
