October’s Beginning Tapestry Weaving class has openings

October’s Beginning Tapestry Weaving class has openings! October 7&8, 9-5 pm.

Tapestry weaving is a medium of artistic expression that is both ancient and modern. It is a way of “painting” using yarn as your palette and warp threads as your canvas. Yarn adds a textural dimension to color interactions and to the shaping in your design.

In this class you will learn some basic tapestry weaving techniques, starting with the interaction of two colors in straight lines, then moving on to the interaction of more colors, curved shapes, and distorted weft, creating a small wall hanging in the process. You will also learn how to warp the frame loom and some different methods for finishing your tapestries.
